Pete Lorenzen was appointed Vice President, Global Technology Services Delivery Excellence in May 2019. He also serves as the IBM Boulder Senior Location Executive and IBM Colorado’s Senior State Executive.

In his current role as VP, GTS Delivery Excellence, Pete is responsible for working with existing clients on business transformation, account growth and collaborative project management to ensure a mutually rewarding partnership between IBM and its customers.

During his 37-year career at IBM, Pete has held several senior roles within the strategic outsourcing arm of IBM’s Global Technology Solutions organization. Most recently, he served as IBM’s General Manager, Global Technology Services, Industry Services from March 2017 through April 2019, where he was responsible for developing and executing the strategy and management system to migrate existing GTS offerings to digital services to meet current and future IBM customer needs. Prior to that Pete served as GM, GTS Networking Services from January 2015 through February 2017, where he oversaw strategy, offering development, sales, and delivery of IBM’s networking service line. Pete was also responsible for leading the Enterprise Infrastructure Services strategy, offerings, sales, solutions, and delivery as General Manager, Integrated Technology Services – EIS, from February 2014 through December 2014.

Pete oversaw the IBM competency responsible for the transition of new Strategic Outsourcing accounts into IBM service support as Vice President, Global IT Outsourcing Transition & Transformation from November 2011 through January 2014. From July 2008 to November 2011, he served as Vice President, IT Outsourcing and, from January 2007 through June 2008, he managed a 6,000-person organization based in Bangalore, India as Vice President, IT Delivery-Global Delivery, India. 

Pete originally joined the outsourcing organization in 1997, where he also managed several large IBM strategic outsourcing accounts, including Lucent Technologies, Avaya Communications, Qwest Communications, JP Morgan Chase, and a portfolio of accounts within multiple industrial sectors through 2006.

In 1989, Pete joined IBM's software group, progressing through a variety of positions in software development and distributed systems architecture.

Pete began his IBM career in 1982 in IT delivery, where he supported large mainframe engineering development.

An active community leader, Pete serves as a member of the Colorado Chapter of the March of Dimes Board of Directors, the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Leeds School of Business Advisory Board and the Colorado Technical Association Board of Directors.
